Kingdia DVD to AVI/VCD/SVCD Ripper and Kingdia DVD to MP3 Ripper FAQ
Q: "Can not read from XXXXX.vob",why?
A: This problem is causeed by the copy protection of your dvd disc.
To unlock the dvd disc, install ASPI, then select "use ASPI to access your dvd driver" in the general tag of settings dialog. If ASPI can not work, please refer the following question.
You can also use dvd player software to unlock, PowerDVD or WinDVD will do the job, just play the DVD with PowerDVD or WinDVD, close it. then run kingdia dvd ripper, the "Can not read..." problem will go away.
Q: I'm using WinXP Win NT or Win2000,ASPI can not work, why?
A: Follow me:
1. download adaptec ASPI driver 4.71 : here
2. unzip ASPI driver 4.71.
3. install ASPI driver 4.71 (aspiinst.exe) reboot and try again.
4. if it still doesn't work, download aspifix reg file: here
5. double click the .reg file to add these if you are not experienced editing the registry .
6. reboot your PC and try again.
7. if it still doesn't work, try changing "Start"=dword:00000001 to "Start"=dword:00000002 in the .reg file then run it again, and then reboot.
Q: "Too much frame or samples", what can i do?
A: You can try to set output framerate to 23.97 NTSC, and check "Output frame rate force 24Hz" on "other" setting window. Some NTSC DVDs, which are marked 29.97, are in fact 23.97 progressive. "force 24Hz" will force input to be a 24Hz progressive NTSC.
Q: What is an ASPI driver?
A: An ASPI driver is required for DVD ripping. Windows 95 or 98 comes with the ASPI manager pre-installed, while NT does not. To tell if you have an ASPI manager installed, look for a file called WNASPI32.DLL in your Windows system directory (c:\windows\system or c:\winnt\system32 are common locations). If Kingdia DVD Ripper is unable to find the ASPI driver, you can download a ASPI driver from here.
